Operational Checklists

Use and update these before every event/season. Treat them as living documents; adjust per game and venue.

Event packing (template)​

  • Robot + bumpers (all sets, labeled)
  • Batteries (charged, tested, labeled) + charger + logs
  • Driver station laptop + controllers/cables + spare controllers
  • Toolkits: mechanical (wrenches, drivers, torque), electrical (crimpers, ferrules, lugs, heatshrink), pneumatics (PTC, sealant, cutter)
  • Spares: motors, motor controllers, sensors, PDP/PDH fuses, wiring, pneumatic fittings, fasteners, chain/belt, wheels
  • Pit: cart, pit structure, lights, power strips, extension cords, zip ties, Velcro, labeler, cleaning supplies, vacuum
  • Docs: inspection checklist, wiring diagrams, code/CAD access, pit map

Pit setup/teardown (template)​

  • Setup: pit structure safe and secure; power safely run; lighting checked; banners/branding placed
  • Tools and spares staged; battery area set with charger and log
  • Robot inspection pass-through: weigh, size check, wiring/pneumatics check
  • Teardown: power off and stowed; tools inventoried; batteries packed safely; trash removed

Safety checks (tie to Safety & Rules)​

  • PPE on; eye protection in pit; hearing protection for loud tools
  • No food/drink near electronics; aisles clear; exits clear
  • Fire extinguisher accessible; spill kit if needed
  • Cover electronics when drilling; vacuum shavings
  • Pull-test critical connections (battery/main breaker/radio power) pre-event

Pre-ship/inspection checklist​

  • Weight and size confirmed within rules
  • Bumpers legal: weight, numbers, mounting, hardness, gap rules
  • Wiring: labeling, secure, no exposed conductors; breaker map; CAN health; radio mount; battery restraint
  • Pneumatics: relief valve on compressor, gauges, regulator at ≤60 psi, vent valve, leak test
  • Code: team number set; controls mapped; auto selector working; logging enabled

Match readiness (rapid check)​

  • Battery installed and secured; voltage OK
  • Controls tested; comms solid; bumpers correct color
  • Auto selected; field-specific settings checked
  • All fasteners critical to match rechecked; game piece handlers clear
