Team 2180 FRC Engineering Hub

Build. Hack. Learn. Repeat. This guide is the superkey for the Team 2180 FRC Engineering Hub—grounded in FRC best-in-class practices and tailored to how our team works.

Core principles​

  • Standardize references and vocabulary (drivetrain, MCC, center-to-center, etc.).
  • Log the process (iterations, tests, failures), not just final CAD/code.
  • Aggregate community excellence (254, 118, 1678, 6328, 3847, 900, 4414) and tie it to how Team2180 executes.
  • Education-first: rookies should grok it within 1–2 seasons.
  • Open by default, with attribution and license.

Modules (holy grail)​

  • Reference (Library of Alexandria): Core texts, parts/CAD libraries, rules, and shop baselines.
  • Strategy (War Room): Kickoff → requirements → architecture; scouting/draft integration; binders.
  • Standards (Workshop): Mechanical, CAD, electrical, pneumatics, software conventions with specs, visuals, and failure modes.
  • Training (University): Role-based paths with levels, workshops, hands-on tasks, and mentor sign-off. %- Logs (Logbook): Daily/weekly updates, prototypes (including failures), tuning logs, postmortems.
  • Admin: Handbook, roles/org chart, checklists, onboarding/offboarding for sustainability.
